Some helpful information for reporting interference to Florida Power & Light, Co.
Listed
at FPL for your area , choose Customer Service and follow instructions until you
get a "live" person. Explain your problem, mentioning interference to
TV, AM Broadcast Radio, etc. Do not make Amateur Radio you prime reason for
reporting. If you have intererence on your radio receiver, it is on the TV and
AM broadcast radio also, unless you are on the cable. In fact you may be able to
locate the site of the interference by driving around your neighborhood with an
AM receiver and making note of all locations where you receive horrendous
interference...give 'em a starting point.
For Online reporting: go
to http://fpl.com/report/content/index.shmtl (have a copy of an electric bill
because you are going to need to have your account # sooner of later in the
process). There is a complete description of various types of interference that
may generate from inside your home. Once you have completed these check and are
sure the interference is from outside your home...go to bottom of the info sheet
and click on "request for interference investigation". There is an
information form to be filled in, just follow the instructions, give the
information needed. Be patient, they do follow through.
If the interference crew works on the source of the problems they have located and your interference continues, repeat the procedures above. FPL has requested that customers continue reporting until ALL sources of their interference has been handled. Once a work order has been issued and work completed, the company assumes the problem has been corrected unless the consumer continues to inform them differently.
